Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State have reiterated their resolve to strengthen party structures and work towards mobilising widespread support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The position was reinforced on Monday during the continuation of the 14–Federal Constituency Tour organised by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in collaboration with the Oyo State chapter of the APC. The engagement for Ibadan North-West and Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency brought together party leaders, stakeholders, and grassroots mobilisers.
The tour was jointly led by the former First Lady of Oyo State, Chief (Mrs) Florence Ajimobi, and the Oyo State Renewed Hope Ambassador, Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin. Sen. Sharafadeen Alli, Abdulfatai Buhari, Femi Lanlehin, Hosea Agboola, alongside the APC State Chairman, Alhaji Olayide Abass, and other party leaders.
Addressing stakeholders, Sen. Folarin explained that the Federal Constituency Tour was aimed at reinforcing internal unity, restoring confidence within party ranks, and encouraging early engagement with party members at the grassroots. He noted that sustained mobilisation and clear communication were essential as the party prepares for the next electoral cycle.
He also spoke on the ongoing reforms under the Tinubu administration, noting that while the policies may require patience, they were intended to stabilise the economy and position the country for long-term growth. According to him, effective grassroots communication would be key to building public understanding and support for these efforts.
In her remarks, Chief (Mrs) Florence Ajimobi called for continued unity and discipline within the party, stressing that cohesion remains central to the APC’s strength in Oyo State. She described the constituency engagements as an opportunity to reconnect with party members and reinforce collective commitment ahead of 2027.
Also speaking, APC State Chairman, Alhaji Olayide Abass, alongside Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, described the tour as timely. They encouraged party members to prioritise voter registration and continuous voter registration, noting that early preparation and coordinated mobilisation would be crucial in the coming elections.
Barr Akeem Adedeji Agbaje, a chieftain of the APC and 2027 gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo State, who hails from the Ibadan South-West/North-West Federal Constituency, commended the open stakeholders’ engagement. He emphasised the importance of unity, early reconciliation, and consistent grassroots engagement, noting that electoral success is built through sustained work at ward and polling-unit levels rather than last-minute efforts. He added that disciplined mobilisation and collective focus would be central to achieving the party’s objectives in Oyo State ahead of 2027.
