A passionate call to action has been issued to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo North Senatorial District at a recent meeting held at MKO Event Centre in Iseyin, stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo North Senatorial District made a unanimous resolution. They called on party members to remain resolute and committed to the party’s growth and development, with the ultimate goal of achieving a decisive victory in future elections.
The party has also reached a significant consensus: the district should produce the next governor of Oyo State. With this decision, the party executives have tasked members with disseminating the resolution to their respective wards and mobilizing voters at all levels to support the party’s agenda.

The meeting’s broad representation underscores the APC’s commitment to unity and collective decision-making in Oyo North Senatorial District. With elected officials from various levels of government and party executives from the grassroots in attendance, the meeting’s resolutions are likely to have a strong impact on the party’s direction and strategies in the district and beyond.
APC members from the Oke Ogun area expressed concerns about being overlooked for leadership roles in Oyo State, despite their consistent support over the past 25 years. To move forward, they urged party leaders to engage in dialogue with other regions to build synergy. Speakers emphasized the need for Oke-Ogun leaders to strategize effectively and present a credible, reputable and vibrant candidate for the governorship seat.
Senator Abdul Fatai Buhari emphasized the importance of unity, perseverance, and resilience in building a strong party. He cited the 2023 general elections, where Southwest negotiations led to President Tinubu’s emergence, and suggested a rotational senatorial seat as a key agenda. Senator Buhari also stressed the need for internal democracy and genuine negotiation to achieve the Oke Ogun Lokan agenda.
Buhari highlighted the success of Southwest negotiations in the 2023 general elections, which led to President Tinubu’s emergence. He drew parallels to this, advocating for a rotational senatorial seat as a top priority before considering micro-zoning of the governorship seat.

Former Deputy Governor ,Rauf Olaniyan while fielding questions from journalists,emphasized Oke Ogun’s capacity to produce leaders, citing Ibadan’s significance. He suggested that Oke Ogun can yield both governorship and senatorial candidates, highlighting the region’s potential for leadership roles in Oyo State.
