The 60th anniversary of Saki Parapo, the umbrella body representing all sons and daughters of Saki, concluded successfully on Thursday, January 15, 2026, after a week-long series of events that began on Friday, January 9.
The celebration brought together traditional rulers, community leaders, youth groups, and well-wishers to reflect on six decades of unity and progress.
Speaking on thedevelopment, the Paramount Ruler of Sakiland, Oba Khalid Olabisi, commended the efforts of the caretaker committee, led by Elder Wole Oladokun, for delivering a memorable anniversary. He urged residents and citizens to remain watchdogs over their children’s upbringing and cautioned against violence and any form of illegality in the community.
Elder Wole Oladokun, Chairman of the caretaker committee, expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in his team and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the welfare of Saki people. He noted that the anniversary was not only a celebration but also a reminder of the collective responsibility to build a stronger community.
Business mogul, Chief Tejubiyi Ishola, described this year’s anniversary as “unique,” emphasizing the importance of personal development, especially among youths, as a pathway to sustaining the legacy of Saki Parapo.
Other speakers at the event also praised the organizers for their dedication and called on all indigenes, at home and abroad, to continue supporting initiatives that promote peace, development, and cultural pride in Sakiland.
The week-long program featured cultural displays, youth empowerment sessions, security dialogues, and community recognition awards, reinforcing Saki Parapo’s role as a unifying force for development in Oyo State.
