Security Summit: Wake Up to your civic duties,Okere charges LG Chairmen

The Okere of Sakiland, Oba Khalid Olabisi, has expressed concern over what he described as the passive attitude of local government chairmen toward security challenges in Oyo State.

At a Security Summit organized by the Oyo State House of Assembly in Ibadan, the monarch said grassroots leadership must be more responsive.

He pointed to persistent insecurity in Oke-Ogun, particularly the Igbeti axis, as evidence of gaps in local coordination. While acknowledging Governor Seyi Makinde’s efforts, he urged council leaders to take decisive action.

He further commended local vigilantes and the Amotekun Corps for their continued operations in rural communities.
