This is all President Bola Tinubu ought to know. Particularly before his voyage yesterday to Benue State. Nigeria’s acclaimed killing field. It is all the President needed.
It would have been his best guide, a veritable companion. As he cruised into the land flowing with blood, tears and sorrow. What an apt and succinct intelligence report. He needed no other.
I couldn’t wait for Tinubu to finish his mission in bloody Benue yesterday. Immediately I came across this post. I concluded wisely. Waiting on Tinubu would be a colossal waste of quality time.
It was a video clip on the latest massacre in Yelewata, Guma Local Government on Friday. Our own land of the dead. A ceaseless bleeding state. A nearly four-minute interview, fully loaded. Picked from a Whatsapp platform.
The interviewer and interviewee not identified. Even the medium was not. The interviewee seemed to be speaking from outside the country. Probably USA. But he had first class knowledge of the Yelewata mass murder. He minced, missed, mixed no word.
You can choose to ignore all the characters. But dare not throw away the baby with the bathwater. The speaker vomited the truth on the unending killings in his Benue State.
How I wish Tinubu saw this before his Benue expedition. Even if Tinubu claims he has not heard this. He can’t pretend not to hear him out, even now:
“More than 200 people were killed. When I woke up this morning and I got the story of what happened (in Benue State), the first seven calls I put across were all killed. They were all dead.
“In my village, if you speak to someone today. Be rest assured that in the next one or two weeks, you will hear the sad news of that person’s death. And do you know that just last month (May), about 20 people were killed in that same village.
“The Fulani are responsible. There is no ethnic profiling. When some people want to be politically correct, they will say, no, that’s ethnic profiling.
“That is why you see the Sultan of Sokoto will not react to this. He reacted when about 11 people were killed in Edo State. The so-called hunters. They went to the Northern Elders Forum. They put up many press conferences.
“Many governors stood up. Edo State Governor had to travel to Kano State to say sorry. Just 11 ‘hunters’, if really they were hunters, who were killed.
“Now, nobody in the North is speaking. Because that is their collective agenda; jihad and the complete takeover of the land of our people. I am saying this authoritatively; I am an authority in this area.
“I was born and raised in Jos, (Plateau State). I speak Hausa as my first language. I speak Hausa better than I speak Tiv language.
“This thing they call intelligence. We are the sources of this intelligence. Government sometimes uses the narrative of intelligence to confuse you as if what they know is different. It is not, we even know better.
“We are the sources of this intelligence. Many of my friends in adjourning villages in Nasarawa State, who are of different ethnic groups other than Fulani. Any time the Fulani are mobilising for these attacks they told us.
“This (latest) attack, they told us before yesterday (Friday). We communicated it to the security force. Nothing has been done. It is no longer secret, it’s just like secret cultism in Nigeria.
“They (Fulani) gathered their AK-47 rifles in a community called Gisa and Gadoko in Nasarawa State. It is the boundary between Nasarawa and Benue states. They held meeting openly that they were going to strike in Iorta
“And people will be bidding them farewell in Hausa: ‘May God bring you back safely.’ They came on more than 100 bikes. That’s how the country has degenerated. These things are done in broad daylight. It has degenerated that bad.
“Let me also shock you. I am saying it as it is. About seven soldiers joined them from Gisa adjourning my own village. They arrested one of them who made all these confessions. He said some of the soldiers of Fulani ethnic stock from Gisa trained them.
“And he joined them and they commandeered the whole thing. So, what they did was extremely tactical and strategic with military precision.
“Right now, a lot of Tiv villages in my council ward have been taken over by these Fulani. They took over not just for grazing but, for proper settlement. You go to these villages you find even their kids crawling with their families.
“They are occupying Tiv houses, which are still standing. And they have their kids there. Not just their cattle. It’s not all about open grazing prohibition. It is about total takeover of the land.”
The way of our leaders run their mouths are nauseating and appalling. Good enough, the Internet doesn’t lie, won’t deceive and doesn’t forget. A startling proof: Tinubu was on sloppy, oily marble way back in on April 14, 2014. That day, he jive talked on his Facebook page like never before. His exact poisonous words to former Goodluck Jonathan:

“Nigeria’s security outlook is depressing. The unending attacks suggest a failure of intelligence. Government must rethink its strategy now.

Now, 13 years after. The roles have been reversed. Let’s then try a reversal of Tinubu’s “evergreen” outburst. His hailers would wish we forgot. They detest the outcome like a pandemic.
But the task must be done and accomplished. A trial will convince the wailers. But confuse the hailers. For fairness and justice. We will adopt Tinubu’s exact words except in some rare cases for maximum impact. This is what it comes out to be. You will love it. They will hate it. We push it back to Tinubu:

It’s like Tinubu tongue-lashing Tinubu. The truth of grandstanding remains constant. It changeth not. Quite interesting, profound and effective. It’s the most outstanding self-check; self-assessment. Nothing else could be so self-inflicted; self-destructive.
Tinubu simply self-bombed Tinubu without thinking twice. Or even looking back. The bomber and the bombed are the same and one. And they felt the effects at equal intensity.
That’s our great joy. What goes around comes around. And what comes around goes around. Whichever way, the choice is absolutely yours. And it’s voluntary but compelling. Stranger than fiction!
Terrorists are prowling with huge devastation. We’re feeling the deep pain and sorrow by the second. Nigeria is the new, viable prospects for jihadists. They are in the skin of terrorists and bandits.
And they are exploring and exploiting with all their might. It’s handsomely paying off for them. They are expanding their coast. It is frightening and frightful.
To our queer rulers all these matter not. Nothing missing. Nothing broken. But 2027 polls is it! It’s their ultimate. The reason they’re not only in government but absolutely in power!
Power intoxicates, titillates and exhilarates. Specifically, maximum and raw power. That’s our unfortunate and pitiable lot in this eerie clime.
We are forced to live in it, by it and for it. Do we have a viable choice? Not really. At least, not in the next six years!
