As a mark of regard,the management and staff of the Okeogun Polytechnic,Saki (TOPS), cancelled all official engagements, declared seven-day mourning, including a condolence visit to the residential home of late Chief Michael Koleosho,as a symbol of last respect.
The Rector, Surv. Ajibola Adetona was accompanied on Friday by other top ranking officials including the Registrar, Adeolu Ojo, Deputy Registrar ,Baabatunde Ojo ,the Bursar ,Asimolowo Munir as well as the Deans of faculties .
Adetona ,described late Koleosho,as an elder statesman who dedicated his life to the well-being of his country home, Oke-ogun area , Oyo State and the nation at large.
He said ,the passage of Koleosho would leave a great vacuum not only to his immediate and political families but the nation as a whole because of his inestimable contributions he rendered for the development of his region , including the Oke-ogun Polytechnic,Saki.
The management also joined the high powered delegation to receive the remains of the late Michael Koleosho on Thursday along the Polytechnic road , Saki.
While paying the last respect, the Rector stated that ,the numerous attributes to the late National figure ,were testimonies to his impact to the institution and the country in general.
Koleosho, popularly called Babalaje of Sakiland, died on Monday, 2nd September,2024 after brief illness at 86.
Until his death, Chief Koleosho was an elder statesman from Oke-ogun geopolitical zone in Oyo state.
Born into the family of Emi-Abata of Saki on April 30, 1938, Koleoso had his primary education at Baptist Primary School, Ajegunle, Saki and later proceeded to the famous Olivet Baptist High School, Oyo, where he was from 1957 to 1961.
Koleosho,a former Secretary to the Oyo State Government under the late Governor Lam Adesina and a towering figure in Nigerian politics, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a rich legacy of public service and community development.
