The Convener of Oyo APC Peace Advocates, Prince Niran Adeyoju, (SDM) has condemned Governor Seyi Makinde for referring to the internal disputes within the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP as a threat to Democracy.
Prince Adeyoju described such claims as an hallucination.
Governor Seyi Makinde in a Media chat on Monday, the 23rd of December, 2025, told a panel of journalists that the former Governor of Rivers state who was also the Leader of the G-5 had promised to hold the PDP down for President Tinubu.
According to Governor Makinde, he and Wike had sometimes in the past, attended a meeting with President Tinubu with the President’s Chief of staffs also in attendance.
At the meeting, Nyesom Wike allegedly promised to hold the PDP down to the benefits of the president and his party.
Governor Makinde therefore described this promise by Wike as a threat to Democracy.
Responding to Governor Makinde, Prince Niran Adeyoju in a statement made available to newsmen on Monday, described Governor Makinde’s alibi as an afterthoughts.
According to him, Governor Makinde failed to tell the public exactly, the basis and details of the meeting in question.
He asked what Makinde and Wike, who were at the time, prominent members of the opposition party were meeting with the president and his Chief of staffs for.
Not only that, Makinde did not tell the panel how he reacted to the purported statement credited to Wike at the meeting.
Did he take Wike up, or, he just remained silent?
Why did it take him this long to tell the public what transpired between him, Wike, president Tinubu and his Chief of staffs?
Prince Adeyoju asked Governor Makinde to justify the brigandage that was at play in 2021 and and 2024 during the Local Government election conducted by him and explain if the actions of his Government at those times didn’t constitute a threat to Democracy?
He advised Governor Makinde to carry his cross and concentrate on how he would salvage whatever remains of the wreckage of the PDP.
He concluded by saying that the PDP is in its present state of comatose as a result of greed, indiscipline and arrogance of its Leaders, Governor Makinde inclusive.
