Hon.Tunde Ogunniyi,the Candidate of the Young Progressives Party, YPP in the last LG government polls in Oyo State ,has defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Ogunniyi,announced his defection at APC’s ward meeting on Tuesday in Tede, ATISBO LGA of Oyo State.

He described his move to APC as a “homecoming” and called on party members to rally behind APC for future wins.

He stated that the current economic policies, youth programs, and reforms under President Tinubu’s leadership influenced his decision to join APC.

“With the current economic reforms, strategic and policy implementation the present administration is putting in place and how the Party has absorbed Youth into her reform system, it is evident that APC is the right choice for us to maximize our potential and to carry out our plans as regards our personal mandate. This present administration led by his excellency President Bola Hammed Tinubu as demonstrated the true meaning of democracy by making sure that every voice is heard and also being objective and not a dictator. This out of many factors is our drive and inspiration”

Ogunniyi pledged to leverage youth potential to drive the party’s growth and development.

Ward chairmen, Kareem Moshood (Ward 1) and Iranlade Kayode (Ward 2), welcomed Ogunniyi, calling his defection a “homecoming” and a positive development for APC.

Former YPP chairman, Azeez Sulaiman, said Ogunniyi and other defectors are committed to strengthening APC and achieving success.
