2027: Adekanmbi Preaches Unity, Grassroots Mobilisation During Oke-Ogun Visit

The governorship candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) in Oyo State, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, has called on party members to remain united and intensify grassroots mobilisation as the party positions itself for the 2027 general elections.

Adekanmbi made the call on Wednesday during the Oke-Ogun leg of his statewide Thank You Tour held in Saki, where he was accompanied by his running mate, Engr. Muftau Open-Salawu. The event attracted party leaders, stakeholders and members from Saki West, Saki East and Atisbo Local Government Areas.

The APM governorship candidate said his emergence as the party’s flag bearer was a collective mandate bestowed on him by committed members across the state. He expressed appreciation for their unwavering support during the nomination process and assured them that he would uphold the confidence reposed in him through transparent, inclusive and purposeful leadership.

He stressed that unity, discipline and a shared vision remain the foundation of the party’s strength, urging members to avoid actions capable of causing division and instead work together to expand the party’s support base ahead of the 2027 elections.

Adekanmbi further assured party faithful that an APM-led administration would be guided by the principles of fairness, equity and inclusiveness, ensuring that every member, regardless of status or background, would have a sense of belonging.

He also declared that his political loyalty remained solely with the Allied People’s Movement, dismissing suggestions of alignment with any other political interest group. According to him, major decisions affecting both the party and government would always be driven by broad consultations with stakeholders.

The governorship candidate reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening grassroots political structures, deepening community engagement and implementing people-centred policies capable of accelerating development across Oyo State.

Speaking with journalists shortly after the event, Adekanmbi addressed the issue of local government autonomy, stating that he would respond at the appropriate time to the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate’s pledge to implement full local government autonomy across Oyo State.

Speaking at the gathering, the deputy governorship candidate, Engr. Muftau Open-Salawu, commended members for their loyalty and resilience, urging them to sustain the momentum through continuous mobilisation and unity as preparations gather pace for the 2027 governorship election.
