The Otun Parapo Community in Otun Quarters, Saki, Oyo State, has announced plans to raise N100 million for the construction of an ultra-modern community hall as part of efforts to promote unity and accelerate community development.
The fundraising event, scheduled for Saturday, December 19, 2026, will coincide with the community’s reunion and award presentation ceremony at the Bagii Palace, Otun, Saki, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The programme, themed “Uniting Our Roots, Building Our Future,” is expected to bring together indigenes, residents, traditional leaders, well-wishers and other stakeholders to mobilise support for the proposed project.
The initiative is aimed at providing a lasting legacy for future generations while strengthening the bonds among members of the community.
Among the traditional dignitaries associated with the event are the Bagii of Saki, High Chief Alhaji Adegoke Ghazaal Olasunkanmi Olatunbosun Alade Abdur-Rasheed, also known as Adekilutoro I, and the Apeeki of Saki, High Chief Busari Ganiyu Adio Ayiloye.
The event will also feature an award presentation to recognise individuals and other stakeholders for their contributions to the community.
With the slogan, “Come Home, Let’s Build Together,” the reunion is expected to provide an opportunity for indigenes at home and in the diaspora to reconnect with their roots and contribute to the development of Otun Quarters.
The proposed N100 million fundraising underscores the community’s drive to mobilise collective resources for infrastructure development and establish a facility that can serve communal, social and cultural purposes.
The organisers are expected to use the gathering to encourage greater participation in community development and inspire a shared commitment to building a sustainable future for Otun Parapo.
