The Asabari Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Saki, Oyo State, has commenced efforts to establish its permanent administrative site as part of measures to promote development and improve service delivery in the council area.

The Administrative Head and Secretary of the LCDA, Ismail Ajewumi Akewula, disclosed this on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, explaining that the decision was informed by the need to provide a permanent administrative base to facilitate the development of the area.

Akewula said the project was being driven by a public-private partnership (PPP) arrangement and communal contributions from the 23 communities that make up the council area.

He explained that the communities and the council had made financial contributions towards the commencement of the project, with the construction of an administrative block as the initial phase.

According to him, the permanent site, when completed, will accommodate various facilities, including an administrative block, legislative facilities, departmental offices, security and emergency facilities, as well as other structures required for a modern local council.

He said the project would create employment opportunities, increase the council’s internally generated revenue (IGR) and stimulate economic activities across the area.

The administrative head acknowledged the contributions of the late former council chairman, Alhaji Kareem Adegoke, who facilitated the perimeter fencing of the site, describing such efforts as significant to the realisation of the project.

He appealed to well-meaning sons and daughters of Asabari LCDA to support the initiative, stressing that sustained communal participation was essential to its successful completion.

Akewula urged the 23 communities not to relent in their collective efforts, noting that the establishment of a permanent site would contribute to the council area’s long-term development.

Meanwhile, the committee overseeing the project is chaired by Alhaji Jimoh Ogunniyi, with Prince Oyelegbin Gabriel as secretary, Deacon Isaac Ogunlola as treasurer and Hon. Aseeperi Waheed as project coordinator.

Also speaking, the Project Development Chairman, Alhaji Jimoh Ogunniyi, commended the council’s administrator for his efforts in discharging his official responsibilities.

He appealed to affluent individuals and other well-meaning residents from the 23 communities to intensify their support for development projects in the area.

He noted that indigenes and residents had made notable contributions to community development initiatives over the years, urging them to sustain the spirit of communal service to ensure the success of the permanent site project.

Ogunniyi also acknowledged High Chief James Okanlahon for making his facility available as a temporary administrative site since the creation of the LCDA.

He stressed the importance of collective responsibility and sustained community support in achieving the vision of a fully functional permanent administrative complex for Asabari LCDA.
