Ago-Are Development Union to Hold 9th AGM, Focuses on Community Security, Unity

The Isokan Ilu Ago-Are Development Union (IIADU) has announced plans to hold its 9th Annual General Meeting (AGM), with community insecurity taking centre stage as stakeholders seek practical solutions to emerging security challenges.

According to the organisers, the meeting will take place on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at the Isokan Event Centre, Oke-Sunnah Area, Irawo Road, Ago-Are, Oyo State, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

The union, whose motto is “Equity and Justice,” has invited sons and daughters of Ago-Are, both at home and in the diaspora, to participate in the annual gathering aimed at discussing issues affecting the growth and development of the community.

The theme of this year’s AGM is “Pragmatic and Workable Approach to Solving Community Insecurity,” reflecting growing concerns over security in many rural communities and the need for collaborative efforts to safeguard lives and property.

Legal practitioner Barrister Abdulwaheed Olowojaye is expected to deliver the guest lecture, where he will present practical strategies for addressing insecurity through community participation, effective leadership and stronger collaboration with security agencies.

The annual meeting is also expected to provide an opportunity for members of the union to review developmental projects, deliberate on community welfare initiatives and strengthen ties among indigenes both within Nigeria and abroad.

Organisers expressed optimism that the AGM would produce actionable resolutions capable of enhancing peace, unity and sustainable development in Ago-Are.
