Hon. Shittu Ibrahim has emerged as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Saki West State Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections following the party’s primary and affirmation exercise held on Wednesday in Saki, Oyo State.
The affirmation exercise, conducted by the Chairman of the APC Primary Election Committee, Alh Yunus Wole Azeez drew the attendance of party leaders, stakeholders, officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), ward executives, and supporters from across the 11 wards in the local government area.
The event, which took place at L.A Primary School, Isale Taba, witnessed a large turnout of party faithful who expressed solidarity and support for the lawmaker’s return bid.
Shittu, who is currently representing Saki West State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, emerged as the sole candidate of the party for the seat.
Addressing party members after the exercise, the lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to party unity and pledged continued loyalty to the ideals and vision of the APC under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He also appreciated party leaders and supporters for the confidence reposed in him, assuring them of continued dedication to effective representation and grassroots development.
Speaking with 𝗜𝗧𝗩 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 , the APC Chairman in Saki, Alhaji Tajudeen Okunlola, expressed gratitude for the peaceful and successful conduct of the exercise.
According to him, the affirmation of Hon. Shittu Ibrahim for a second term reflects the unity, cooperation, and confidence enjoyed within the party in Saki West.
He noted that the consensus around the lawmaker’s candidacy demonstrates the party’s resolve to sustain purposeful leadership and strengthen its chances ahead of the 2027 elections.
