An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Oyo State and founder of AwodiOke Foundation, Engr. Tosin Kolade Lateef, has provided solar-powered street lights to several communities in Ago-Are, ATISBO LGA of the state.
The project, sponsored by Kolade, covers Idi Agbede Tarmac, Abe Igi Fruit, Oke Sando, Oke Sunnah ,Owode market, Military post along sabẹ, Balọdẹ Tarmac, and Post areas, as well as the residences of two APC leaders in Ago-Are.
The initiative, according to the beneficiaries, is aimed at improving visibility at night, enhancing community security and creating a more conducive environment for night-time economic activities.
Residents commended the APC chieftain for what they described as his continued commitment to community development and efforts to complement government interventions in Atisbo Local Government.
They said the installation of the solar lights would provide relief to residents and business owners, particularly those whose activities extend into the night.
The beneficiaries expressed appreciation to Kolade for the intervention, praying for his continued success and greater capacity to contribute to the development of Ago-Are and ATISBO area.
In a related development, he also rehabilitated an abandoned borehole in Ofiki community, in an effort to alleviate the hardship faced by residents and improve access to potable water.
The project adds to growing calls for stronger collaboration between political stakeholders, communities and government in addressing basic infrastructure needs at the grassroots.
