The Executive Chairman, Iwajowa Local Government, Iwere-Ile , Hon. Oyewumi Muritala Abiodun, has assured of the commitment of his administration to improve welfare officers of Western Nigeria Security Network codenamed AMOTEKUN in the Council Area. The Chairman disclosed this while having interactive meeting with the officers of Amotekun recently.
The pledge was made available to this newspaper on Sunday by the Director of Administration and General Services,AbdulAzeez A. Ishaq Alaraje

Honourable Oyewumi said his administration was planning to construct a befitting office accommodation and equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to cater to for administrative activities of the corps in the Council Area. He said, the Council had secured suitable land for the construction of an office accommodation for Amotekun in Iwere-Ile, the Headquarters of Iwajowa Local Government and approval of the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Secretariat, Ibadan,Oyo State, equally sought to secure mandate on the project.
The Chairman, while noting that the project would benefit not only members of Amotekun , but also other security operatives in close proximity to the proposed Amotekun office as they would be assisting each other in security operations. He went further to state that funds for the project would be sourced from the Independent Generated Revenue (IGR) of the Council with a promised of ensuring the funds were expended appropriately for the construction of the structure.
He noted further that, with the construction of office accommodation, the Amotekun Corps will now have every opportunity to work in an environment that is conducive.Officers and men of Amotekun will be in the office 24 hours, to perform their security services effectively and efficiently. He said no investment will be too much to improve their working condition and welfare of security operatives. He acknowledged “the important roles the Amotekun Corps is playing to maintain law and order and guarantee safety in all parts of the Council Area..
Hon. Oyewumi therefore concluded that, “we expect that there will be more dedication; we expect that there will be more motivational things that will happen. We expect that security service delivery will be enhanced in a bid to protect the lives and properties of the good people of Iwajowa and its residents.
AbdulRazaq commended the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Usman Alkali Baba for uniquely seeking to promote the well-being of the police officers and equip them with necessary infrastructure to succeed.
acknowledged the important roles the Nigerian Police Force is playing to maintain law and order and guarantee safety in all parts of the country.
He appreciated the Police State Command and other security agencies for doing their best to keep Kwara among the safest states in the country.
