Iwajowa LG to Mark 30th Anniversary, Commission Four Projects

Iwajowa LGA of Oyo State is set to mark its 30th anniversary with the commissioning of four key infrastructure projects across the LG.

The anniversary celebration and commissioning ceremony are scheduled to hold on Monday, October 5, 2026, at the council’s Secretariat, Iwere-Ile, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

The development was contained in a statement made available to the ITV Online on Friday.

The projects lined up for commissioning include the Primary Health Centre in Itasa, staff quarters at the Iwere-Ile Primary Health Centre, a newly constructed police station at Lajile and the Traditional Council’s building.

The projects, according to the statement, are part of efforts to strengthen critical public infrastructure and improve access to essential services across the local government.

The event is expected to be attended by the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde; the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Ademola Ojo; and the Executive Chairman of Iwajowa LG, Hon. Muritala Abiodun Oyewumi.

The anniversary will also provide an opportunity to reflect on the 30-year journey of Iwajowa Local Government, its development trajectory and the contributions of successive administrations, traditional institutions and residents to its growth.
