Ogunesan Calls For Unity, Patience As Nigeria Marks 66th Independence

The All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Oyo North, Mrs Hannah Olawumi Ogunesan, has urged Nigerians, particularly residents of Oyo North Senatorial District, to remain united and optimistic about the future of the country.

Ogunesan, in a message made available to this newspaper on Thursday to mark Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary, commended Nigerians for their resilience, patience and continued belief in the potential of the country.

She said the anniversary provided an opportunity for Nigerians to reflect on the nation’s journey since independence and renew their commitment to building a better society.

The APC candidate said the gradual gains being recorded under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration should encourage Nigerians to remain hopeful and committed to national development.

She acknowledged that the journey towards economic and national transformation might be gradual, but maintained that perseverance, consistency and collective efforts would be critical to achieving greater progress.

Ogunesan also expressed appreciation to the people of Oyo North for their support, prayers and confidence in her, assuring them of her commitment to advancing their interests.

She said, “As we look towards 2027, I humbly ask for your continued support, trust and partnership. Together, we can build on the progress being made and work towards an even brighter future for Oyo North and Nigeria.”

She called for greater unity among Nigerians, stressing the need for citizens to contribute their quota towards the development and progress of the country.

Ogunesan congratulated Nigerians on the 66th anniversary of the country’s independence and prayed for continued peace, progress and prosperity in Oyo North, Oyo State and Nigeria.
