Oke-Ogun Monarchs Unite on Regional Security, Meet in Saki

In a renewed effort to strengthen security and foster sustainable development in Oke-Ogun, prominent traditional rulers from across the Okeogun region on Wednesday held their maiden strategic joint security meeting in Saki.

The meeting, hosted by the Okere of Sakiland, Oba Khalid Olabisi, at his palace, brought together royal fathers to deliberate on the growing security concerns affecting Oke-Ogun and other parts of the country.

The monarchs examined preventive approaches to addressing insecurity, emphasizing the need for stronger collaboration among traditional institutions, security agencies, government authorities and local communities.

They also discussed practical measures to enhance intelligence gathering, encourage community vigilance and promote peaceful coexistence as critical steps toward protecting lives and property.

Beyond security, the royal fathers considered issues relating to the peace, unity and socio-economic development of the Oke-Ogun region, stressing that a secure environment remains the foundation for meaningful progress.

The strategic meeting ,was the first coordinated security engagement by the traditional rulers in the region and underscored their collective resolve to provide leadership in confronting security challenges while supporting initiatives that will ensure lasting peace and prosperity in Oke-Ogun.
