As part of preparatory activities to put its house in order towards a smooth 2027 general elections , the All Progressives Congress,APC in Oyo State ,OkeOgun chapter ,has convened a high level strategic meeting.
The meeting held on Monday, 30th June 2025, at Aborisade Hall, Igbope, Orelope LG, had in attendance a delegation of Oyo APC Peace Advocate’s and Victory Initiative, former Deputy Governors, former Ministers, serving and former Members of the House of Representatives, current and past Members of the Oyo State House of Assembly, former Commissioners, Special Advisers, Special Assistants, former Local Government Chairmen, Local Government Party Chairmen, State and Local Government Party Officials, Women and Youth Leaders, among other distinguished members from across the Oke-Ogun zone.

In his remarks ,a former Deputy Governor in the state, (Barr.) Iyiola Oladokun, commended the impressive turnout of the gathering and reiterated the stakeholders’ collective dedication to the unity, strength, and progress of the party.
Speakers extensively deliberated on salient issues affecting the party and unanimously reaffirmed their unwavering support for APC and His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, endorsing his bid for a second term. The meeting commended his visionary leadership, bold reforms, and commitment to national transformation.
In the spirit of fairness, equity, and balanced development, the stakeholders also called for a power shift to the Oke-Ogun zone in future political considerations within the state. They emphasized that ,despite the region’s consistent loyalty and contributions to the party’s success, it has remained politically marginalized. The meeting therefore urged all leaders and structures within the party to support this just aspiration in the interest of unity and inclusive governance.
The stakeholders adopted the recommendations of the APC Peace Advocate Group, a body promoting internal unity and peaceful coexistence and all aspirants and members were urged to pursue their ambitions with maturity and decorum, free from rancour or divisiveness. The group pledged complete neutrality and fairness in its engagements.
All the party leaders and members were enjoined to intensify grassroots mobilization efforts for both APC membership registration and continuous voter registration in preparation for upcoming elections and they emphasized the critical need to deepen grassroots engagement throughout the Oke-Ogun zone to expand the party’s reach and promote inclusive participation in party affairs.
In a separate interview, Prince Niran Adeyoju (SDM) and Chief Wale Ohu, co-conveners of the Oyo APC Peace Advocates’ Victory Initiative, highlighted the importance of unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 elections.
According to them, unity and cohesion are crucial for the party’s success, and they urged members to put aside their differences and work towards a common goal. They also commended the Oke-Ogun zone’s strategic plans, describing the turnout as “very progressive.”
When asked about the party’s chances in 2027, Prince Adeyanju and Chief Ohu expressed optimism, emphasizing that the party’s unity and strategic plans would propel it to victory. They stressed that returning the party to the government house in Oyo State is sacrosanct and that all efforts would be geared towards achieving this goal.
A former member of House of Representatives, Hon. Olumide Ojerinde emphasizes the importance of synergy within the party, stressing that,working together and combining their efforts, leaders and members can achieve a more cohesive and effective party structure.
The meeting concluded with a strong sense of unity, shared responsibility, and renewed commitment to the growth and electoral success of the APC in Oyo State and across Nigeria.
Prominent figures at the event include Engr. Remi Olaniyan, Chief Alake Adeyemo, Barrister Iyiola Oladokun, Hon. Shittu Aremu Ibrahim, Hon. Musbau Azeez, Hon. Lukman Ishola, and Barrister Adebayo Shittu.
The meeting served as a platform for stakeholders to deliberate on key issues affecting the party and chart a course for success in the 2027 elections.
