The Okere of Sakiland, Oba Khalid Oyeniyi Olabisi Oyedepo III, has called for the accelerated completion of ongoing power line projects in Saki and its environs, as part of efforts to address persistent electricity challenges affecting economic activities in the area.

The monarch made the appeal during a courtesy visit to the Minister of Power, Mr. Joseph Tegbe, in Abuja, where he highlighted the impact of unstable electricity supply on businesses, small-scale enterprises, and overall economic productivity in Sakiland.

Oba Oyedepo expressed concern that inadequate power supply has continued to hinder commercial growth and discourage investment in the area, stressing that improved electricity infrastructure is critical to unlocking the region’s economic potential.

He urged the Federal Ministry of Power to prioritise the completion of ongoing transmission and distribution projects, noting that timely intervention would significantly boost business confidence and improve livelihoods.

The Okere reaffirmed his commitment to sustained engagement with relevant federal authorities to ensure that Sakiland benefits from ongoing national infrastructure development programmes.

In his response, the Minister of Power, Mr. Joseph Tegbe, acknowledged the concerns raised and commended the monarch for his proactive advocacy on behalf of his people.

He assured that the ministry would review the issues presented with a view to improving electricity supply and advancing ongoing projects in the region.
