Olaniyan Scales APC Screening, Reaffirms Commitment to Oyo Development

Former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Rauf Aderemi Olaniyan, on Saturday, May 9, 2026, appeared before the APC governorship screening committee in Abuja as part of the process toward securing the party’s ticket for the 2027 governorship election.

The screening exercise, which attracted several prominent governorship aspirants from across the country, remains a major step in the party’s selection process ahead of the election.

Speaking with journalists after the exercise, Olaniyan reaffirmed his commitment to the development of the state, outlining key priorities of his agenda to include human capital development, agricultural transformation, improved security, quality education, better healthcare delivery and economic growth across all geopolitical zones of the state.

Other APC aspirants from Oyo State who obtained nomination forms and attended the screening at the Kaduna State House in Asokoro included Akeem Agbaje, Akeem Alao, Fatai Buhari, Usman Bakare, Bayo Adelabu and Abayomi Adesina.
