A former Chairman of the Oyo State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency, Alhaji Najeem Omirinde, has mourned the death of a prominent political leader and community elder, Alhaji Raheem Durojaye, who died at the age of 84.
Omirinde, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, in a condolence statement made available to The 𝗜𝗧𝗩 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 on Monday, described Durojaye’s death as a monumental loss to Saki, Oke-Ogun and Oyo State.
Durojaye, a political heavyweight from the Ogidigbo area of Saki and head of the Ajibise family, was described by Omirinde as an elder statesman whose influence transcended partisan politics.
He said the deceased was renowned for his political sagacity, wisdom, experience and commitment to the unity and development of his community.
Omirinde said Durojaye’s demise had created a significant vacuum in the political and community landscape of Saki, particularly at a time when the experience and counsel of respected elders were needed to strengthen unity, peaceful coexistence and political stability.
He urged family members, political associates and residents of the community to uphold the values of wisdom, integrity, selflessness and service to humanity for which the deceased was known.
The APC chieftain commiserated with the Ajibise family, the Ogidigbo community, Durojaye’s political associates and friends, as well as the people of Saki, Oke-Ogun and Oyo State.
He prayed to Almighty God to grant the deceased eternal rest and give his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
