The Chairmanship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Saki, Sarafadeen Lateef Abiola (Esq.), has intensified efforts to foster unity and consolidate the party’s ranks ahead of the forthcoming lG elections and subsequent 2027 general elections.
As part of the reconciliation initiative, Abiola on Wednesday convened a meeting with other aspirants at the Oredegbe Event Centre, Saki, in a demonstration of sportsmanship and commitment to intra-party cohesion.
The meeting was aimed at healing any perceived divisions arising from the selection process and forging a common front capable of advancing the interests of the party at the grassroots.
Following the successful selection process, the other aspirants reportedly aligned with Lateef Sarafadeen Abiola as the party’s candidate, signalling their readiness to work collectively towards securing victory for the APM.
The development is expected to further strengthen the party’s political structure in Saki and create a more formidable platform for grassroots mobilisation.
In a related development, women leaders from the 11 wards also paid a courtesy and congratulatory visit to Onijo at his law chamber, where they expressed solidarity with his candidacy and reaffirmed their commitment to the success of the party.
Similarly, members of the Hausa community visited him as part of ongoing courtesy engagements by various groups and stakeholders.
The candidate also received campaign coordinators of the APM governorship candidate, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, led by Sarafadeen Mayasahu, in continuation of consultations and mobilisation efforts aimed at strengthening the party ahead of the elections.
