Stakeholders of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) in Oorelope LGA of Oyo State have affirmed the candidacy of Mr. Jimoh Adisa Olabisi ahead of the forthcoming State House of Assembly election.
The affirmation, which took place on Thursday in the presence of party leaders, elders, and grassroots mobilisers, reflected what stakeholders described as a collective confidence in Olabisi’s leadership capacity, political experience, and grassroots appeal.
Speaking during the gathering, the Oorelope Local Government Chairman, Timothy Ogundayo, stated that the decision to support Olabisi was aimed at presenting a strong and unifying candidate capable of delivering victory for the party across the constituency.
He added that the movement behind Olabisi’s emergence had also joined forces with the APM party structure and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing the alliance as a strategic collaboration to strengthen political support and ensure electoral success in the constituency.
According to him, Olabisi’s sustained engagement with constituents and contributions to community development distinguished him among other aspirants seeking the party’s ticket.
Party stakeholders at the event described Olabisi as a credible and widely accepted figure with the influence required to strengthen the party’s chances in the election.
They also commended the leadership style of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, his deputy, and the state party leadership for fostering internal democracy and inclusiveness within the political space, which they noted contributed to the emergence of consensus among stakeholders.
Supporters and party members across Oorelope expressed optimism over the APM’s prospects in the forthcoming election, describing the affirmation as a strategic move aimed at consolidating the party’s influence within the constituency.
In his acceptance remarks, Olabisi appreciated party leaders and supporters for the confidence reposed in him, assuring them of inclusive representation and people-oriented leadership if elected into office.
He also appealed to fellow aspirants to accept the outcome in good faith and work collectively towards the success of the party at the polls.
