The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) UK chapter has expressed loss of confidence in the actions of acting national chairman, Iliya Damagum and national secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu.
In a statement signed by the president of the chapter, Dr Anita Jackson, the group demanded the immediate expulsion of Damagum and Anyanwu from the party.
The statement called on the partyโs leadership to take immediate and decisive action against the duo, saying they are a โfestering woundโ on the PDP.
โWe demand that Damagum and Anyanwu be expelled from the party forthwith. Their presence is a festering wound on the PDP, and their continued involvement will only lead to further damage and destruction.
โTheir interference in legal matters, their plots to derail the partyโs progress, and their blatant disregard for the partyโs constitution are all evidence of their treasonous intentions.
โThe actions of both men are a slap in the face to the millions of loyal members who have worked tirelessly to build the PDP into a formidable force in Nigerian politics.โ
The group promised to fight for the soul of the party and restore it to its former glory, saying they will not forget the sacrifices of PDPโs founding fathers.
Jackson added: โWe call on the partyโs leadership to take immediate and decisive action against the duo.
โExpel them and let them join their true allies in the APC. The PDP does not need Damagum and Anyanwu. We need members who will work tirelessly to build a better future for Nigeria.
โTheir actions are a wake-up call to all loyal members of the PDP. We must rise up and reclaim our party. We must stand strong and united. We will not be silenced, and we will not be defeated. We will fight for the soul of our party, and we will emerge victorious.
