The Palace unequivocally condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the brazen attack carried out on two citizens of Ago-Are by suspected armed bandits in what appears to be a failed kidnapping attempt. This reprehensible incident, which occurred yesterday, is a direct affront to the peace, security, and collective dignity of our people.
Ago-Are is renowned for its heritage of courage, unity, and vigilance. It is therefore deeply reassuring and commendable that the combined efforts of security agencies, traditional watchmen, local hunters, and vigilant citizens led to the swift resistance and disruption of this criminal act. Their bravery reflects the enduring spirit of our community and our zero tolerance for criminality.
Let it be unequivocally stated that Ago-Are remains a peaceful and secure domain. Any attempt by criminal elements to undermine our security architecture will be decisively resisted. We shall not allow our land to become a haven for lawlessness, nor will we permit fear to take root among our people. Our internal security mechanisms remain active, coordinated, and resolute.
The Palace extends its profound sympathy to the victims, who are currently receiving treatment for gunshot injuries, and to their families. We stand in solidarity with them and assure them of our continued support as they recover from this traumatic experience.
Furthermore, we call on all tiers of government to treat the security of lives and property as a matter of urgent and sustained priority. We urge enhanced intelligence gathering, increased security presence, and deeper collaboration with traditional institutions and local security structures to prevent any recurrence of such incidents.
Ago-Are shall endure.
Ago-Are shall remain secure.
And Ago-Are shall never bow to the forces of terror.
Signed:
His Royal Majesty Oba Abodunrin Oyetunji Kofoworola Olakanla II, Ph. D, fcai
The Aare of Ago-Are Kingdom
