An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and BSA Voice of Reason Media Coordinator, Elder David Oluokun, has called on members of the party in Oyo State to close ranks and unite following the confirmation of Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli (BSA) by the party’s National Secretariat.
In a statement titled “Now That BSA Has Been Confirmed: Time to Close Ranks and Reclaim Oyo in 2027,” Oluokun described the confirmation as a defining moment for the APC, saying it signals the commencement of the party’s campaign to reclaim the Oyo State Government House in the 2027 governorship election.
He urged party leaders, stakeholders, aspirants and members across the state’s 33 local government areas to put aside internal disagreements and embrace unity, insisting that the time for internal divisions had passed.
According to him, Senator Alli possesses the leadership qualities required to lead the APC into the next electoral contest, citing his grassroots appeal, record of constituency projects, empowerment programmes, party loyalty and ability to build consensus across political divides.
Oluokun also launched a scathing critique of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, which he referred to as “Omikomi 3.0,” alleging that the government had failed to adequately address insecurity, youth unemployment, rural infrastructure deficits and inclusive governance.
He maintained that Oyo residents were yearning for what he described as purposeful leadership and expressed confidence that the APC, under Senator Alli’s leadership, could provide a credible alternative.
The APC stalwart outlined what he described as a three-point roadmap for victory in 2027, urging party members to strengthen internal cohesion, intensify grassroots mobilisation from the ward to the local government level, and remain united behind a common objective of returning the party to power.
He stressed that the struggle to reclaim Agodi Government House transcends individual ambition, describing it as a collective mission to restore effective governance and accelerate development across Oyo State.
Oluokun concluded by appealing to APC faithful to embrace peace, solidarity and collective action, declaring that the work of positioning the party for victory in 2027 must begin immediately.
