The successor and preferred choice of Òyó State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has emerged to continue his master plan for Oyo State as governorship candidate of yet to be chosen party for 2027 general elections.
Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, former Commissioner for Finance under administration of late Governor Abiola Ajimobi emerged as a sole candidate of the PDP ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Òyó State.
The decision to settle for Hon.Bimbo as the party’s standardbearer was arrived on Wednesday evening during the Oyo South Senatorial Stakeholders’ Meeting held in Ibadan.
Adekanmbi officially joined PDP in 2025 and was appointed by Governor Makinde as the Chairman for the for the upgrade of Ibadan Airport, Alakia to international standard.
On the platform where all candidates under the PDP will fly, there are clear indications that Governor Seyi Makinde may take them to ADP.
In another political development, Hon. Saheed Fijabi, Chairman of the Oyo State at 50 reportedly rejected Ibadan North West/South West reps ticket noting he was in contest for gubernatorial ticket.
