The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, on Tuesday led a tactical operation to a suspected kidnappers’ hideout located in the rugged Paze-Byazhin Hills area of Abuja, resulting in the destruction of the criminal camp.
Police sources said the operation followed credible intelligence on the activities of suspected kidnappers operating within the area. The raid, carried out by a combined team of security operatives, targeted a concealed base believed to have been used for planning and coordinating kidnapping activities.
During the operation, the security team combed the surrounding hills and successfully dismantled makeshift structures serving as the suspects’ hideout. Several items linked to criminal activities were reportedly recovered from the camp.
The FCT Police Command said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to rid the territory of criminal elements and enhance public safety. Residents were urged to remain vigilant and continue providing useful information to security agencies.
