A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Founder of the Awodi-Oke Foundation, Engr. Tosin Kolade Awodi-Oke, has congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of this year’s Democracy Day, urging citizens to remain hopeful and committed to the nation’s democratic journey.
In a Democracy Day message made available to ๐๐ง๐ฉ ๐ข๐ป๐น๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ on Thursday, Awodi-Oke said Nigerians have every reason to celebrate the country’s democratic progress, noting that democracy has continued to evolve and strengthen over the years despite prevailing challenges.
According to him, the nation has made significant strides in democratic governance over the past two decades, with citizens increasingly embracing democratic values and institutions.
โDespite the challenges we are facing as a nation, we shall overcome them. There is light at the end of every tunnel,โ he stated, expressing optimism about Nigeria’s future.
Awodi-Oke described this year’s Democracy Day as particularly significant, coming at a crucial period in the country’s political history and ahead of future electoral activities.
He commended Nigerians for their resilience, patriotism, and unwavering commitment to democratic governance, stressing that greater dividends of democracy would be achieved through collective efforts and sustained participation in the democratic process.
The APC stalwart also called for continued support and cooperation from citizens towards the entrenchment and deepening of democracy in the country.
He further urged leaders at all levels of government to redouble their efforts in ensuring that democratic governance translates into tangible benefits for the people, emphasizing the need for policies and programmes that directly improve the welfare of Nigerians.
