Igboho Community Loses a Rare Gem as Ona Iwa Mimo Supreme Head, Baba Aladura Ibikunle, Dies

The Igboho community in Oyo State has been thrown into mourning following the death of the Supreme Head of Ona Iwa Mimo Worldwide, His Eminence, Baba Aladura Joseph Aderibigbe Ibikunle, JP, COM.

Baba Aladura Ibikunle died on Monday, August 31, 2026, at about 6 p.m., after 21 years of dedicated service as the Supreme Head of Ona Iwa Mimo Worldwide.

The announcement was made by the Conference General Secretary, Apostle Olomotutu A. M. (MNIM).

Baba Aladura Ibikunle was ordained Supreme Head on August 13, 2005, and spent more than two decades providing spiritual leadership and guidance to members of the church.

His tenure was marked by dedication to the work of God, spiritual leadership and commitment to the growth and advancement of Ona Iwa Mimo Worldwide.

His death has been described as a significant loss to the church, the Christian community and the Igboho community, where he was regarded as a respected and influential spiritual figure.

The church expressed gratitude to God for his life and legacy, while praying for comfort for his family and strength for the leadership and members of Ona Iwa Mimo.

The church drew comfort from the biblical words: “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints” — Psalm 116:15.

His passing brings to an end a significant 21-year chapter in the leadership of Ona Iwa Mimo Worldwide.

May his soul rest in perfect peace.
