Iwajowa LG chairman, Muritala Abiodun swears-in Secretary,Assistant Secretary

calls for concerted efforts

Hon. Oyewumi Muritala Abiodun, the Executive Chairman, Iwajowa Local Government, Iwere-Ile,Oyo State today, Thursday ,12th September, 2024, sworn-in Secretary and Assistant Secretary for the Local Government in a very colourful ceremony.

In a statement made available to this newspaper on Thursday by the Director of Administration and General Services,AbdulAzeez A I.Alaraje, tasked the appointees to be proactive in the discharge of their civic responsibilities.

The First Citizen of the Council, heartily congratulated the duo of Mr. Mathew Oluseyi Adeola and Miss Adeniji Abisola Yetunde who were privileged to be graciously approved to be Secretary and Assistant Secretary for the Council by His Excellency,Engr. Seyi Makinde,FNSE, the Executive Governor of Oyo State. He charged newly appointed political functionaries to be loyal both State and Local Government and be, faithful, honest and diligent in their private and official engagements, in the bid to take Iwajowa Local Government, Iwere-Ile to the greater heights.He further enjoined them to be more proactive in their official duties for the progress and development of Iwajowa. He said they were the privileged to be chosen and appointed among the lots and that the hope of people and residents of Iwajowa Local Government Area depended on them being the engine room of the Council.
He concluded his welcome address by admonished them to give room for synergy and unity of purpose in the running of the affairs of the Council, as well as meet the yearnings and aspirations of the good people of Iwajowa who once again voted massively for People’s Democratic party (PDP) in the last Governorship Local Government Elections.

The swearing-in ceremony which was held at Legislative Chamber, Secretariat Complex, Iwajowa Local Government, Iwere-Ile had in attendance Hon. Sanni Waidi Bolanle, the Vice Chairman/Political Head, Iganna Local Council Development Area; Hon. Oshin Sunday Abiodun, the Leader of the House: Mr. Kazeem Oladeinde Hammed, the Chief of Staff; all the Honourable Councillors; all the Supervisors; all the Special Assistants to the Executive Chairman; Hon. Wasiu Fasola, PDP Chairman and PDP stakeholders from the Council such as Chief Michael Adedokun Adegbite, Alhaji Kazeem Olatunji, Alhaji Ishaq Ademola, Hon. Timothy Bolarinwa; Hon.Asafa, Alhaji Musa Ali, Mr.Dauda Adeegbe, Pa. Salaudeen Okeyode, Pa. Olasunkanmi,Hon. Oleleye ( former Leader of the House), Pa. Ganiyu, Alhaji Mufutau Tenidemi and Alhaja Idiat Foladade.

Others were Ag. Head of Local Government Administration Mr.Adebayo J.G., HODs, Deputies and Heads of Unit, Iwajowa Local Government, Iwere-Ile.

Paramount Traditional Rulers in the Council Area were not left as the following Monarchs graced the occasion:- HRM.,Oba Mudasiru Olawale Oyewobi, the Amujio of Ijio; HRM., Oba Lawal Oyedepo Oyeleye , the Bagijan of Ilaji-Ile and HRM., Oba Joseph Tewogbola Oyediran , the Onidiko of Idiko-Ago.

Mrs. Oyewumi Aminat Moromokemi, the Chairperson of Iwajowa Local Government, Iwere-Ile and Women Forum of the PDP gracefully honoured and attended the programme.

Mr. AbdulAzeez A. Ishaq Alaraje, the Director of Administration and General Services, Iwajowa Local Government, Iwere-Ile, administered the Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Office on the newly appointed Secretary and Assistant Secretary respectively.

The newly Sworn-in Secretary, Mr. Mathew Oluseyi Adeola, for himself and on behalf of the Assistant Secretary, Miss Adeniji Abisola Yetunde, appreciated His Excellency Engr Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE , the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Hon. Oyewumi Muritala Abiodun, the Executive Chairman, Iwajowa Local Government, Iwere-Ile, and all PDP Executives, Party Elders and Leaders as well as members of the PDP, for the opportunity given to them to serve the Council. He promised them absolute loyalty and that they would not betray the trust and confidence being reposed on them by the party and good people of Iwajowa Local Government. He concluded that the Dividends of Democracy would be evenly and equitably distributed to the people in line with the oath of office being sworn into by the Grace of God.

The vote of thanks was said by Honourable Sanni Waidi Bolanle, the Vice Chairman who doubled as the Political Head/Administrator, Iganna LCDA, Iganna.
