Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka Condemns Killing, Abduction in Orire LGA

Chief Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka, the Ladilu of Oyo Kingdom, former Chief of Staff to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, and gubernatorial aspirant of the ADC in Oyo State, has expressed deep sorrow and condemnation over the recent killing and abduction of residents and students in Ahoro-Esinle area of Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Chief Ilaka described the attack, which reportedly involved over 30 armed men riding motorcycles and dressed in military camouflage, as barbaric, painful, and unacceptable. He lamented the loss of innocent lives, the abduction of more than 40 students, and the growing insecurity threatening communities in northern Oyo State. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for the safe return of those abducted.

He called on the Federal and State Government , security agencies, and relevant stakeholders to urgently strengthen security operations across the affected communities and forest corridors linking Oyo with neighboring states. According to him, proactive measures must be taken to dismantle criminal networks and prevent further infiltration of armed groups into the region, while local communities should be integrated into effective intelligence and early-warning systems.

Chief Ilaka also urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies, while praying for peace, safety, and stability in Orire Local Government, Ogbomoso zone, and Oyo State at large.

He reaffirmed that enough is enough regarding the continued killing and kidnapping of innocent Nigerians
