The Okere of Sakiland, Oba Khalid Oyeniyi Olabisi Oyedepo III, has announced that the FG has approved the establishment of a new police command/station for the Saki community, describing the development as a major boost to security in the area.
The monarch made the disclosure while addressing traditional chiefs and other stakeholders after the Jumat service in Saki, Oyo State.
The traditional ruler expressed gratitude to God for what he described as answered prayers and appreciated the government for approving projects aimed at improving the welfare and security of the people.
He also assured residents that ,quality construction work would soon commence on the newly awarded Oke-Ogun road project, expressing confidence that the FG would deliver the project to the expected standard.
The royal father further reassured of lasting solutions to the persistent electricity challenges confronting the community. He expressed optimism that ,the intervention of the Minister of Power would ensure stable electricity supply to Saki before the end of the year.
According to the monarch, the recent achievements recorded by the community were made possible through the collective efforts and unity of the Saki Parapo, which he described as a strong platform for pursuing the development of Sakiland.
He recalled how some individuals expressed dissatisfaction over the dissolution of the previous Saki Parapo Executive, but noted that the renewed cooperation and strong network among members of the new Saki Parapo has continued to attract meaningful development to the community.
He urged residents, community leaders and stakeholders to sustain the spirit of unity and collaboration, stressing that collective action remains the key to attracting more government presence and development projects to Sakiland.
