Rep. Member, Kereem Tajudeen empowers 100 youths on ICT, 50 women on Agro-processing skills

The lawmaker representing the good people of Saki West, Saki East and ATISBO Federal constituency, Hon. Tajudeen Abisodun Kareem , has organized a five-day training to ensure service delivery and sustainable income for the teeming youth and women of his constituency.

The exercise, which focused on digital skills acquisition for self reliance, was held at Abeje Multipurpose Hall, Saki in conjunction with the National Center For Agricultural Mechanization (NCAM) and the Nigeria Film Corporation (NFC) .

The lawmaker, who was represented at the training by his Personal Assistant, Alh. Sabitu Olofa,said he was thrilled to train his people on ICT and Agro-processing so as to expose them to ICT world , food security, as well as to lift them out of unemployment and poverty .

He maintained that , the training was a demonstration of his staunch belief in the use of ICT as a formidable force towards achieving economic development, noting that all the participants for the ICT received a computer set each , while the trainees on Agro-processing received cash sums to enable them start their businesses and renewed their hopes .

He iterated that, the training was the 8th programme of its kind that the lawmaker has delivered since he was elected into the National Assembly in 2023 as a representative of his people.

While charging the participants to put the skills acquired during the training into practice in order to establish themselves and be self-reliance, pledged to providing more dividends of democracy to accommodate a large portion of his constituents.

The representative of the Nigeria Film Corporation (NFC) and National Center For Agricultural Mechanization (NCAM),Barrister Taiwo Sani said the event was initiated to equip the youth and women with basic computer knowledge in order to enhance their productivity in the present ICT age .

Speaking further,Mr. Taiwo noted that ,the participants were trained to be resourceful in Agro-industrial programme to ensure food sufficiency.

He encouraged the trainees to make good use of the opportunity and be good ambassadors to the society at large .

Participants were taught in the basic computer uses of Microsoft applications, digital marketing and Internet for practical, cassava and Okro processing as well as the significant of Business Registration.

On his parts , the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress,APC in Saki West LGA, Alh. Tajudeen Okunlola ,said the organizers ensured that the selection of the participants for the training,had nothing to do with partisanship, noting that , youths and women from every part of the constituency were offered the opportunity irrespective of political and religious backgrounds.

Okunlola, encouraged the participants to make judicious use of the knowledge and empowerment facilities.

Some of the beneficiaries, expressed satisfaction and hailed the lawmaker, described him as trailblazer who believes in human capacity development as the bedrock of societal normative values.

Hon. Kareem Tajudeen Abisodun, had facilitated similar programmes ,several vocational skills and economic enhancement schemes in which youths from the constituency were trained and equipped to be self-reliance.

The five-day training, which started on Monday, 30th September, ended on Friday, 4th October with empowerment of the participants with various tools for economic engagement to boost their economic growth.

The empowerment materials distributed included 100 Computer set, stipends,among others .

He had facilitated programmes including Phone repairs ,Fish Farming, Distribution of Grinding Machines, Fertilisers, Women Empowerment scheme, ICT training and Mining training.
