The Muslim Ummah in Saki West LGA of Oyo State has announced plans to hold its annual General Maolud Nabiyy celebration on Sunday, August 30, 2026.
The event, organised under the leadership of the Grand Chief Imam of Sakiland through the Committee of Maolud Nabiyy and Hijrah, is expected to bring together Muslim faithful from across Saki West and neighbouring communities while the Royal father of the event is the Okere of Sakiland, Oba Khalid Olabisi.
According to the organisers, the celebration will take place at the Ansar-ud-Deen High School playing ground, Sango, Saki, beginning at 10am.
The programme will also commemorate 17 Rabi’ul Awwal 1448 AH in the Islamic calendar.
The event is being coordinated by the Leagues of Imams and Alfas and the Elders Council of Saki West LGA.
The annual Maolud celebration is expected to provide an avenue for Muslim faithful to come together in remembrance of Prophet Muhammad, while promoting unity, peaceful coexistence and Islamic teachings among members of the community.
Muslim residents and guests are expected to attend the programme, which is scheduled to commence promptly at 10am.
