The Allied Peoples Movement House of Assembly candidate for Saki West State Constituency, Hon. Kabir Adebayo Salaudeen, on Friday received the party’s governorship candidate, Bimbo Adekanmbi, during his grassroots consultation with critical stakeholders in Saki, Oyo State.
Adekanmbi’s visit formed part of his ongoing stakeholder engagements across Oke-Ogun ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The APM Hopeful joined other party leaders and stakeholders to receive the governorship candidate, who subsequently held separate engagements with Muslim clerics, traders and members of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Saki West chapter.
The Chief Imam of Saki, Sheikh Abdazeez Jeje Kunmi, led the delegation of Muslim clerics during one of the engagements.
The consultations provided a platform for stakeholders from different segments of the constituency to articulate their concerns and communicate their developmental expectations directly to the governorship candidate.
The stakeholders raised issues bordering on infrastructure, socio-economic development, welfare, community empowerment and other areas they said required sustained governmental intervention.
In his remarks, Adekanmbi assured the stakeholders that the issues raised would receive due consideration, stressing that meaningful governance must be anchored on continuous engagement with the people.
The APM candidate described himself as a grassroots politician, saying his longstanding business relationship with communities across Oke-Ogun had enabled him to appreciate the region’s socio-economic dynamics, peculiarities and developmental aspirations.
He also highlighted some achievements of the Governor Seyi Makinde, including road infrastructure projects and the payment of salaries and gratuities.
Adekanmbi pledged that his administration, if elected, would pursue an inclusive governance architecture in which religious affiliation would not determine access to government or public opportunities.
He urged the people of the area to support his candidacy, maintaining that the concerns and priorities presented during the consultations would constitute important inputs into his governance agenda.
The engagement also featured a courtesy visit to the palace of the Okere of Sakiland, Oba Khalid Olabisi , where Adekanmbi received royal blessings and counsel on leadership and the expectations of the people.
He later met with party leaders and members, reiterating his commitment to grassroots participation, stakeholder consultation and inclusive governance.
The governorship candidate was accompanied by Hon. Sarafadeen Abiola Onijo, Hon. Adeniyi Adebisi, Hon. Rafiu Adekunle, Engr. Hammid Gbadamosi, among others.
