The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Oyo State House of Assembly, Saki East/Atisbo State Constituency, Hon. Alhaji Alliu Tajudeen Adetunji (JP), has felicitated teachers and other workers on the occasion of the 2026 World Teachers’ Day, describing them as indispensable agents of human development and nation-building.
Alliu, in his goodwill message issued on Monday, commended teachers for their sacrifices, perseverance and unwavering commitment to the education and upbringing of younger generations.
He said teachers occupied a strategic position in society, stressing that no meaningful development could be achieved without a well-trained, motivated and adequately supported workforce.
The APC candidate noted that teachers did considerably more than impart academic knowledge, arguing that they also mould character, nurture talents, cultivate discipline and prepare young people for responsible citizenship.
He said, “On this special occasion, I celebrate our teachers, whose commitment and sacrifices continue to shape the future of our communities and our nation.
“Teaching is a noble profession that requires patience, sacrifice and uncommon dedication. Every classroom is a place where the future is being constructed, one child at a time.
“Our teachers deserve not only our commendation but also concrete support, improved welfare and an environment that enables them to give their best.”
He urged governments at all levels to accord greater priority to the welfare of teachers and other workers, stressing that improved remuneration, professional development, modern teaching facilities and conducive working conditions would enhance productivity.
He maintained that the prosperity of Saki East, Atisbo and Oyo State at large would be significantly determined by the quality of investment made in education and human capital development.
According to him, “We cannot build a prosperous society while neglecting those who are responsible for educating and preparing our children for the future.
“Teachers must be given the tools, training and motivation required to discharge their responsibilities effectively. Their welfare should not be treated as an afterthought.”
The APC candidate also called on teachers to reciprocate government and institutional support with professionalism, discipline, integrity and dedication to duty.
He urged workers to remain resilient in the face of prevailing economic and social challenges, assuring them that their contributions to society remained valuable and would continue to yield dividends for generations yet unborn.
Alliu congratulated teachers across Saki East, Atisbo and Oyo State on the celebration, praying for greater strength, wisdom and fulfilment in the discharge of their duties.
He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting policies and initiatives that would strengthen education, improve workers’ welfare and create greater opportunities for young people in the constituency.
