Three members of the Oyo State House of Assembly have demonstrated unity among lawmakers from the Oke-Ogun axis of the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The lawmakers are Hon. Waliu Aweda Salami, representing Irepo State Constituency; Hon. Shittu Ibrahim, representing Saki West State Constituency; and Hon. Lukman Ishola, representing Oorelope/Olorunsogo State Constituency.
The lawmakers were among APC leaders who converged on Saki on Wednesday during the visit of the party’s deputy governorship candidate, Adesoji Adedeji, to the area.
The gathering, held at the Saki City Hall, was organised under the theme, “Building APC Youths for Electoral Success in Oyo State.”
The lawmakers joined other party leaders and supporters in receiving Adedeji, who urged APC members, particularly youths, to strengthen grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
The appearance of the three lawmakers from different constituencies at the event was seen as a show of solidarity and unity among APC representatives in the Oke-Ogun axis.
Speaking at the gathering, Adedeji called on party members to work together, stressing that unity remained critical to strengthening the APC across the state.
He said, “A single tree cannot make a forest,” urging members from Oke-Ogun, Ogbomoso, Oyo and Ibarapa to work together for the success of the party.
Adedeji also promised that an APC administration would prioritise workers’ welfare, education, youth development, investment and a functional local government system if elected in 2027.
He said the proposed administration would focus on attracting investors to the state, creating employment opportunities and investing in human capital.
During the visit, the deputy governorship candidate also paid a courtesy visit to the Okere of Saki, Oba Khalid Oyeniyi Olabisi Oyedepo III.
The event attracted other APC leaders, women leaders, youths and members of the City Boys Movement, among others.
The gathering also featured solidarity songs and prayers for the success of the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
