The All Progressives Congress (APC) has concluded its primary elections for House of Representatives seats across federal constituencies in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The exercise, which was conducted across most constituencies in the state, produced several candidates who will represent the party in the forthcoming polls.
According to reports monitored by Newspeak Online, the successful candidates include Umar Farouk Alao for Ibadan North Federal Constituency and Folake Olunloyo-Oshinowo for Ibadan South West/Ibadan North West Federal Constituency.
Sarafa Olaoniye emerged as the party’s candidate for Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North, while incumbent lawmaker Akinola Alabi secured the ticket for Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency.
In Akinyele/Lagelu, Olafisoye Akinmoyede won the primary, while Segun Dokun Odebunmi emerged victorious in Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency.
Former Oyo State governor’s son, Olamijuwon Alao-Akala, clinched the APC ticket for Ogbomoso North/Ogbomoso South/Oriire Federal Constituency.
Other candidates include Saheed Adejare Yusuf for Kajola/Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa, Tajudeen Abisodun Kareem for Atisbo/Saki West/Saki East, and Tolulope Akande-Sadipe for Oluyole Federal Constituency.
Akeem Adeyemi also emerged as the APC candidate for Afijio/Atiba/Oyo East/Oyo West, while Ibraheem Olayode Iyiola secured the ticket for Ibadan North East/Ibadan South East Federal Constituency.
For Irepo/Olorunsogo/Oorelope Federal Constituency, Olatunbosun Oladele emerged as the party’s flag bearer.
However, the result for the Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency primary was still being awaited as of the time this report was filed.
