The National Chairman of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Yussuf Dantale, on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to Oyo State political elder statesman, Adebisi Olopoeyan, at his Basorun residence in Ibadan.
Although the details of the meeting were not officially disclosed, sources familiar with the development linked the visit to ongoing political consultations and speculated realignments involving Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, and the Allied Peoples Movement.
According to sources, Dantale visited Olopoeyan while en route to the airport for Abuja after reportedly spending several hours overnight at Governor Makinde’s residence in Ibadan.
The development has fueled speculation among political observers over possible strategic alliances ahead of future political activities in Oyo State.
Analysts believe the meeting may be connected to alleged moves by Governor Makinde and some of his loyalists to strengthen ties with the APM as consultations continue within the state’s political landscape.
Neither the governor’s office nor the leadership of the APM had issued an official statement on the purpose of the meetings as of the time of filing this report.
The visit comes amid increasing political permutations and behind-the-scenes consultations among key stakeholders in Oyo State ahead of future electoral contests.
