A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Ismail Adewoyin, has officially declared his intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives after obtaining the party’s expression of interest and nomination forms ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Adewoyin is seeking to represent the Saki West, Saki East, and ATISBO Federal Constituency in Oyo State, a move expected to heighten political activities within the APC and intensify competition for the National Assembly seat.

The procurement of the nomination forms on Friday marks his formal entry into the race, as political stakeholders across the constituency begin early consultations and alignments ahead of the polls.

Widely regarded as a seasoned professional, Adewoyin brings a blend of academic excellence and industry experience to his political ambition. An estate surveyor and valuer, he has built a solid reputation in his field while maintaining a strong presence in academia.
He has authored more than 27 scholarly publications in both local and international journals, contributing significantly to discourse within his area of specialization. His professional background also includes consulting engagements with international telecommunications firms, highlighting his exposure to global best practices.
Supporters also cite his extensive travels across Nigeria as evidence of his broad understanding of the country’s socio-economic realities and developmental challenges.
Political observers note that his entry introduces a new dynamic to the contest, with party stakeholders expected to weigh experience, grassroots appeal, and competence as the APC prepares for its primaries.
Although the 2027 general elections are still some time away, interest among aspirants is already building across party lines, particularly in Oyo State where contests for legislative seats have historically been competitive.
In a statement issued by his campaign organization, Adewoyin said his decision to contest is driven by a strong commitment to serve his people and deliver quality representation at the National Assembly.
“With the love of my community and a firm resolve to serve diligently, I have obtained my Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Saki West, Saki East, and ATISBO Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections,” he said.
“My aspiration is anchored on a deep commitment to give back to my people through quality representation at the Green Chamber of the National Assembly. I pledge to champion legislation, oversight, and constituency projects that will drive development across the old Ifedapo axis.”
“I appeal to APC leaders, party faithful, and the good people of the constituency to support my candidacy at the party primaries and in the general election.”
He also expressed appreciation to supporters, friends, and family members for their prayers and continued moral and financial backing, adding that with collective support, victory is assured.
