A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Mr. Busari Adewale Yakubu, popularly known as Donbay, has been conferred with the prestigious Fellowship status of the Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration of Nigeria (CILGPAN).
The conferment, which represents the highest professional grade of the institute, was approved by the Membership Committee and Board of Regents of the institute in recognition of his outstanding contributions to public administration and local government development in Nigeria.
CILGPAN, a professional body chartered by Act No. 1 of 2017, described Busari as a seasoned administrator with vast experience in Public Enterprise Management and Public Administration.
According to the official correspondence dated May 10, 2026, and referenced CILGPAN/CHF/2026/001, the fellowship was awarded in recognition of his “expertise and outstanding performance in Public Administration activities in Nigeria.”
The institute also commended the APC stalwart for his exemplary leadership qualities, integrity and commitment to manpower development within the public sector.
In its citation, the institute described him as “a man of great integrity whose virtues are worthy of emulation,” adding that his professional accomplishments have continued to impact positively on local government administration and public sector governance.
Busari was nominated for the fellowship by Mr. Ojo Babatunde Lanre, FCIA, following what the institute termed his remarkable contributions to administrative leadership and public sector strategy.
Reacting to the honour, associates of the politician and administrator described the recognition as a testament to his dedication to excellence, professionalism and community development.
The new Fellow is reputed for his competence in managing public initiatives and institutional frameworks, as well as his advocacy for efficient and result-oriented governance at the grassroots level.
Mr. Busari Adewale Yakubu, whose professional address is listed as 52 Airport Road, Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, joins the growing list of distinguished Nigerians admitted into the fellowship cadre of the institute.
The honour further reinforces his standing as one of the notable public administration professionals and political stakeholders from Oyo State.
