Leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Atisbo Local Government Area of Oyo State have renewed their commitment to party unity, reconciliation and grassroots mobilisation as preparations gradually begin for the 2027 general elections.
The resolution was reached at a stakeholders’ meeting held at the APC Secretariat in Tede, the headquarters of Atisbo LGA, where party leaders, executives, elders, youth representatives and members gathered to discuss the future of the party and strategies for strengthening its structure.
The meeting, convened by Chief Enock Adediran and Hon. Bayo Olagbenro, focused on promoting peace, growth and development within the party.
Addressing the gathering, the APC Chairman in Atisbo LGA, Hon. Tafa Mufutau Adelere, popularly known as Ekuku, expressed gratitude to God and commended party stakeholders for their dedication and sacrifices in advancing the interests of the APC.
He lauded the large turnout of members despite prevailing challenges and urged party faithful to remain united and support candidates who emerge from future primary elections.
“We must remain committed to the party’s ideals and structures. Members should not allow opposition parties to distract them from the APC. Unity and loyalty remain critical to our collective success,” he said.
Stakeholders reviewed the state of the party in the local government and deliberated on ways to deepen internal democracy, strengthen grassroots support and ensure effective leadership across all levels.
Speaking on the theme of the meeting, “The Way Forward Towards Peace, Growth and Development of Our Party, APC in Atisbo Local Government,” participants described the gathering as timely and necessary for fostering harmony and repositioning the party for future electoral victories.
In his remarks, Chief Enock Adediran praised members for their unwavering loyalty and commitment, stressing that unity remains the bedrock of sustainable political success.
He noted that committed party leaders personally contributed resources to ensure the success of the meeting without relying on elected APC office holders.
Also speaking, Kunle Arowolo expressed confidence that APC candidates from the presidency to the State House of Assembly would emerge victorious in the 2027 elections.
According to him, President Bola Tinubu’s grassroots political network and extensive database of party supporters would enhance the delivery of democratic dividends to Nigerians and strengthen the party’s electoral prospects.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Youth Leader of the APC in Oyo State, Sayo Fatoki, who delivered a message on behalf of the state APC Chairman, Otunba Alake Adeyemo, assured members that efforts were ongoing to address lingering issues within the party.
Fatoki commended members for their resilience and impressive turnout, insisting that the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) posed no threat to the APC in the state.
He urged members and supporters to respect established party leadership structures and avoid actions capable of undermining the unity of the party.
“If there are grievances, members should engage party leaders through appropriate channels rather than allowing external influences to create divisions within the APC in Atisbo,” he advised.
Several other speakers underscored the need for inclusiveness, reconciliation and sustained engagement with members across the local government.
At the end of the meeting, stakeholders resolved to intensify membership mobilisation, promote peaceful coexistence and work collectively towards ensuring the continued growth and electoral success of the APC in Atisbo Local Government and Oyo State.
Among those in attendance were Chief Enock Adediran, Hon. Bayo Olagbenro, Hon. Michael Sangodipe, Mrs Julianah Ajuwon, Alhaji Muritala Animashaun, Hon. Tafa Mufutau Adelere and Mrs Bernice Olaegbe, among other party stakeholders.
