APM Atisbo | Saki East Reaffirms Consensus Candidacy of Hon. Ayobami Oluwaseun Ojo, Warns Against Fake News

The leadership and stakeholders of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, in Atisbo and Saki East Local Government Areas have moved to clear the air on the party’s candidacy for the State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued on behalf of the constituency leadership, the APM described the candidacy of Hon. Ayobami Oluwaseun Ojo as “a deliberate and sensibly reached decision” backed by the leaders of both LGAs after extensive consultations with elders, ward executives, youth and women groups, and grassroots stakeholders.

The party emphasized that the consensus was based on Hon. Ojo’s track record of service and accessibility. He served as a former Member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, former Chairman of Atisbo Local Government, former Local Government Secretary, and former Supervisory Councillor for Works. According to the statement, this experience has earned him the trust of the APM structure in the constituency.

The leadership was categorical in dismissing recent claims suggesting that Rt. Hon. Ridwan Saminu Gbadamosi (Wale Canada) is the party’s candidate for 2027. “Let it be clear: the APM in Atisbo and Saki East has not adopted, nor does it recognize, Rt. Hon. Ridwan Saminu Gbadamosi (Wale Canada) as its candidate for the State House of Assembly in 2027,” the statement read. “Any statement suggesting otherwise is false, misleading, and does not reflect the position of the party’s constituted leadership in the constituency.”

The statement also addressed what it called a deliberate attempt to spread misinformation to confuse party members and the public. The APM warned individuals behind such claims to desist immediately, noting that the people of Atisbo and Saki East are politically aware and will not be misled by recycled propaganda. It added that any further attempt to circulate falsehood would be met with public clarification and appropriate political response.

While reaffirming its commitment to unity, the APM stressed that genuine unity must be built on truth, due process, and respect for the will of the people. The party called on all loyal members and stakeholders to focus on strengthening party structures, mobilizing for victory, and promoting issue-based politics ahead of 2027.

“In conclusion, the position of the APM in Atisbo and Saki East is clear, documented, and binding: Hon. Ayobami Oluwaseun Ojo is the consensus candidate for the State House of Assembly in 2027,” the statement concluded.
