The College of Nursing Sciences, Muslim Medical Foundation (MMF), Saki, has matriculated 160 students into its National Diploma (ND) Nursing programme for the 2025/2026 academic session, reaffirming its commitment to producing competent and compassionate healthcare professionals for Nigeria’s healthcare sector.
The students were formally admitted into the institution during the College’s grand Second Matriculation Ceremony held at the main auditorium in Saki on Tuesday, attracting a distinguished gathering of academics, healthcare practitioners, traditional rulers, management board members, parents, and other stakeholders.
The colourful event marked another milestone in the growth of the institution, which has rapidly emerged as a centre of excellence for nursing education in Oyo State and the wider Oke-Ogun region.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Provost of the College, Alhaja Sani Olalere K.O., urged the newly admitted students to embrace discipline, dedication, and academic excellence as they begin their professional journey.
“Today marks the beginning of a noble and life-changing journey for our newly admitted students. By taking the matriculation oath, you have become part of a profession built on compassion, discipline, integrity, and service to humanity,” she said.
“Nursing is not just a profession; it is a calling that demands commitment and excellence. I encourage you to remain focused, diligent, patient, and committed to excellence. We are dedicated to producing competent and compassionate healthcare professionals.”
The Provost assured the students that the institution would continue to provide a conducive and stimulating learning environment equipped with the necessary resources to support their academic and professional development.
“Your journey into the noble profession of nursing has just begun. We are committed to providing a nurturing environment that fosters academic excellence, innovation, and compassion the bedrock of quality healthcare,” she added.
She also warned the students against engaging in activities and social vices capable of derailing their academic pursuits, stressing the importance of maintaining the highest standards of conduct throughout their training.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Management Board, Alhaji Yusuff Ismail Adebayo, congratulated the matriculating students on securing admission into the institution and charged them to approach their studies with seriousness and determination.
“This significant journey begins with dedication, compassion, resilience, and a strong sense of purpose. The future of healthcare depends on professionals who are not only academically sound but also committed to serving humanity,” he said.
The Head of Department, Alhaji I.A. Salaudeen, administered the matriculation oath to the students and reminded them of their responsibilities as future healthcare professionals.
He urged them to uphold the ethics and values of the nursing profession and to serve as worthy ambassadors of the institution.
“You must work hard, remain disciplined, and take both your academic studies and clinical training seriously. The knowledge and skills you acquire here will have a direct impact on the lives of those you will serve in the future,” Salaudeen said.
A special prayer session was led by Barrister Nasirudeen Muslim, who sought divine guidance, wisdom, and protection for the students throughout their academic journey.
Speakers at the ceremony commended the Muslim Medical Foundation for establishing a modern institution dedicated to addressing the shortage of skilled healthcare personnel in Nigeria.
They noted that the college has continued to invest in quality education, well-equipped laboratories, and robust clinical training opportunities to ensure its graduates remain globally competitive.
The ceremony concluded with jubilation, photo sessions, and expressions of excitement from students and their families, marking the official commencement of academic activities for the ND Nursing Class of 2025/2026.
