In a move aimed at improving the infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life of residents, the Political Head of Asabari LCDA and Secretary to Saki West LGA, Hon. Kolade Ojo, on Thursday flagged off the grading of the Ilua major road, the road which leads major farm settlements including Ekokan area has been in a state of disrepair for years .
The flag-off ceremony, which was held at the Ilua Maternity Community was attended by dignitaries, including the Okere in council , Supervisory Councillors, and other stakeholders.
In his address, Hon. Kolade Ojo explained that the grading of the road is part of the council’s efforts to improve the infrastructure and provide better services to residents.
“We recognize the importance of good roads to the economic development and quality of life of our residents,” the Chairman said. “That is why we are committed to grading our roads and providing better services to our people.”
The Ilua Community road has been in a state of disrepair for years, causing difficulties for motorists and other road users. The grading project, which is expected to be completed within the next few weeks, will involve the grading of the road, repair of potholes, and installation of new drainage systems.
The traditional head of the area, Baale Ilua on behalf of the people of the area, expressed joy and appreciation for the project, saying that it will greatly improve their quality of life.
He, however, appealed to the government to tar the road to lessen the agony of the road users particularly farmers who are transiting food items to the community.
“We are very happy that the council is grading our road,” said the traditional chief . “The road has been in a terrible state for years, and we have been suffering as a result. We are grateful to the council for this project and we urge the government to tar the road to ease the movement of the road users especially the farmers”
The flag-off ceremony was witnessed by council officials, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
