XMAS funfair disaster : Okere mourns, praises Oyo govt.

His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr.Surv Khalid Oyeniyi Olabisi Ayinla Ado Oyedepo 111, the Okere of Sakiland, commiserates with the families of the children who lost their lives to stampede during organised Christmas funfair at Islamic High School, Basorun, Ibadan.

In a statement made available to newsmen on Sunday , the Oba also sympathises with those who sustained varying degrees of injury.

The Paramount ruler praises the Government of Oyo State led by His Excellency, Engineer Oluseyi Makinde for the prompt actions to forestall further deaths and injuries. His Royal Majesty while recognizing the good intent of the organisers of the program which turned to an unfortunate tragedy, admonishes the general public to always take safety and protection of children and elderly more seriously when organizing social gatherings. He prays to God Almighty to give the bereaved families the fortitude to bear the loss and continue his protection over everyone at all times.
